Hi, I’m Amy
I Lead Couples Therapy Retreats in Los Angeles and the Silicon Valley
I know you are struggling. Maybe you have already tried couples counseling. Maybe you’ve even tried it more than once. You don’t want to waste any more time and money sitting in a room doing reflective listening and not actually solving any of the big problems. You’re frustrated and defeated and you want real change!
A Couples Intensive Therapy Retreat Will Put You on the Fast Track for Change!
After one weekend intensive with me, couples say things like,
“I realize that I have a lot to work on, but now I feel like I have the tools and support I need to make the changes that will make the difference in our relationship”
“I’m hopeful again about the future of our relationship, and I feel closer than ever before”
I know you have a lot of choices—there are a lot of therapists who do couples therapy! So why would you want to work with me?
I have the education, training, and experience to help you find your way back to the connection that you once felt with each other.
In addition to my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and 3000 hours of training for my license in Marriage and Family Therapy, I have specific training and experience in Couples Therapy. I am a Level One Gottman Therapist, and I have studied Sue Johnson’s Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy, Harville Hendrix’ Imago Therapy, and the work of Esther Perel. I have done a year-long training with Ellyn Bader and Pete Pearson of the Couples Institute of Menlo Park, and had specific training in leading Couples Intensive Therapy Retreats. About 90% of my therapy practice is based on relationship therapy, and about half of my clients are couples. I am also part of a community of highly-trained couples therapists that support each other in growing and learning and staying on the cutting edge of couples therapy research.
What else should you know about me?
I love being a couples therapist!
We humans are social beings! We are meant to have relationships of various kinds with the people in our lives. And it is within these relationships that we have the greatest opportunity for growth. Sure we can all “work on ourselves” individually, but it is in our relationships where all the messy stuff really shows up. It is in your relationship where you can really stretch and grow not only as a couple, but as individuals learning to be your best selves. This is where the magic happens! Something I often hear in couples therapy is:
“I learned more about myself in this one day of intensive couples therapy than I learned in over 30 sessions of individual therapy that I have had over the years.”
Curious about how this works? Give me a call or shoot me an email to set up a free consultation where we can talk about how couples therapy can change your life, too!
